Camping Holidays – Tents & Small Campervans

Our camping field is exclusive, triangular in shape and adjacent to our main field. All of the emplacements are positioned around the edge of the triangular perimeter. They are large and some are separated by trees and shrubs affording a small degree of privacy. Some of these emplacements have access to a 10amp electric hook-up.

The field has its own water supply and recycling facilities. In the centre of the field there is an area for ball games and a play area for under 14’s.

The toilet, shower building and dish washing area are located centrally between the touring and camping fields and are shared by guests on all fields. The camping field electric hook up points all have low wattage courtesy lights and these will not interfere with the local colonies of bats and other wild-life and allow the badgers to continue on their nightly patrol. There is also a light near the water/wastewater point and one by the recycling point.

Summer camping field

The lower half of our third field is for summer camping use. It is open and sloping with no hedge or shrub divisions. There are 10 emplacements measuring approximately 10m x 9m for tents only. There are no electric hook ups or dedicated water points on this field. The toilet block and nearest water point are 5 minutes walk away. These conditions will not be suitable for some campers so please take careful note before booking to avoid disappointment.

"What a fantastic location, excellent host and a five star camp!! We had a fabulous time despite the periodic rain as there is so much to visit either by car, walking, hiking, we also biked all round Penrose. The camp was peaceful, end of April so not many campers in tents but facilities and the whole site were impeccably clean, excellent warm showers, fridges and freezer for free use, laundry room with dryers, wash up area for dishes, everything one would need for a relaxed stay. Our four day break is really memorable so thank you Nick for maintaining such a superb site and making us feel so welcome. We highly recommend Silver Sands!!"

"Good size pitches, friendliness, cleanliness, locality to good beach, "tent neighbours" who return year after year indicates how happy they are with the site."

Feedback from Mr Harris - August 2013

"Immaculately maintained. Facilities cleaned throughout the day. Extremely friendly and helpful owners. Very quiet after 10pm. Site well laid out, located in very nice countryside, quiet location, pitches flat and sheltered from wind. We were there for 2 weeks and overall it was one of the best campsites we have stayed at."
